• Each Fire Extinguisher is located in the designated place
  • Each Fire Extinguisher is unobstructed and visible
  • The operating Instructions of each Fire Extinguisher are clean, legible and face outwards
  • Each Fire Extinguisher has not been operated and is not obviously damaged
  • The reading of any pressure gauge fitted to a Fire Extinguisher is within operational and safety limits
  • The seals and tamper indicators of each Fire Extinguisher are not damaged or missing

The customer should arrange for corrective action where necessary

Customer Monthly Checks

BS5306 Part 3 2009 states that as well as an Annual Service by a competent person Fire Extinguishers should be checked not less than monthly by the user (the user is defined as the engineers customer). The inspection should include that:

Fire Extinguishers


Businesses are obligated to provide Fire Extinguishers and to have them maintained. They should be serviced at least annually to British Standard 5306 Part 3 2009. New Fire Extinguishers also require a Commissioning Service before use. 3MG Fire Protection do not tie you into a contract but will contact you in the month they are due to book in a mutually convenient day to carry out the service.
